Konya Kayet

Chiropodist, Foot Specialist

Konya Kayet is the chiropodist of the Newmarket Advanced Foot Clinic and Orthotics. She has always had a keen interest in health care and knew from a young age that she would be a healthcare practitioner.

She began her path toward Podiatric Medicine with a degree in Biology and Kinesiology from York University. Following her undergraduate degree, Konya continued her education through George Brown College, where she trained as an Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician. This field is where she developed a passion for advanced biomechanics, gait analysis, orthotic casting and fabrication, and was also exposed to footwear modification and lower limb bracing. She then continued her educational path with postgraduate training in Chiropody at the Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences in Toronto. This branch of medicine expanded her knowledge and clinical skills in anatomy, pharmacology, dermatology, pathophysiology, podopediatrics, soft tissue surgery, and the high risk foot.

Konya’s clinical experience includes the Michener Chiropody Clinic, Sherbourne Health Centre, Anne Johnston Health Station, Women’s College Hospital, Simcoe Foot Clinic, Foundation Chiropody, Sunnybrook Hospital, Erin Mills Podiatry, and the Newmarket Foot Centre. Konya is also a certified fitter for compression stockings. Konya enjoys educating patients on preventative, conservative, and surgical options regarding the foot. She is of the opinion that it is important to take the time, not only to fully treat patients, but to help them understand their situation. She believes in exhausting all conservative treatments prior to considering surgical treatment options. Pre-Covid, Konya regularly presented at Southlake Hospital’s Diabetic Education Centre for their foot segment of Just the Facts, an educational program for those who are newly diagnosed with diabetes. In addition to educating those in the community, she is also an award winning clinical educator with the Michener Institute and often has students that intern with her. Konya has a special interest in ingrown toenails and orthotics. She finds great reward in helping people with painful feet walk away pain free!

Konya is registered with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario, and is a member of the Ontario Society of Chiropodists. She is committed to keeping her knowledge current, and regularly researches new treatment options to provide the best quality foot care to patients of all ages. She is a strong believer in evidence-based data.

When not treating patients, Konya enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
